A motion-driven film for the PLACARD project designed to teach local politicians how to use narrative and neurobiology to communicate climate change effectively.

Details

The film illustrates how storytelling triggers chemical releases in the brain, allowing audiences to imagine themselves in situations rather than just processing dry data.

By blending stock footage with custom motion graphics, the piece serves as a pedagogical tool for leaders to bridge the gap between climate facts and public action.

Process

  1. Researched the neurobiology of storytelling and its impact on climate change communication
  2. Developed a visual script that balanced scientific concepts with emotional narrative beats
  3. Curated and edited stock footage to establish a global context for local political action
  4. Designed and animated custom 2D and 3D motion sequences to visualize internal cognitive processes
  5. Produced the final edit and sound mix to ensure a cohesive educational experience
